Neon Cascade Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 8, 2026
Neon Cascade is a neon-styled tile-matching puzzle game where you clear cascading grids, chain combos and climb the leaderboard. Neon Cascade is developed and operated by MoviByte Studio, based in the Netherlands. The game is designed to be playable offline and to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. What we collect
There is no registration. The game signs you in anonymously, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number or password.
We process the following data:
- Anonymous player ID. A random identifier created when you first open the game. It is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Game progress and scores. Your levels, scores, in-game currency balances (such as credits, prisms and energy) and unlocked items are stored so your progress is saved and can be synced across sessions. If you play offline, this is kept on your device and synced when a connection is available.
- Display name (optional). If you choose to appear on the online leaderboard, the display name you enter is stored together with your score. You can play without submitting to the leaderboard.
- Purchase history. If you buy items in the Neon Shop or the Neon Pass, we receive purchase records (product, dates, status) linked to your anonymous player ID. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your payment card details.
- Gameplay analytics. Anonymous, aggregated events about how the game is played (for example levels started, completed or failed, and features used) so we can balance difficulty and improve the game.
We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.
2. How we use your data
We use the data described above to:
- Save your game progress and synchronize it across sessions.
- Operate the online leaderboard and show rankings when you choose to participate.
- Manage your in-game purchases and unlock the items or the Neon Pass you bought.
- Understand how the game is played, balance level difficulty and fix problems.
- Protect the game against fraud, cheating and abuse.
Our legal bases under the GDPR are performance of a contract (providing the game and your purchases) and our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the service.
3. Third parties and processors
We work with a small number of service providers to run Neon Cascade:
- Supabase (EU-hosted Postgres backend): anonymous authentication, saving progress and scores, the leaderboard and secure server functions.
- RevenueCat: in-app purchase and Neon Pass management. Receives purchase information linked to your anonymous player ID.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing for in-app purchases, under their own privacy policies.
Where processors handle data on our behalf, this is governed by data processing agreements in line with the GDPR.
4. Data retention
Game progress, scores and leaderboard entries are kept until you delete them or until your anonymous account is removed. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for purchase management and legal obligations. You can contact us at any time to request deletion of all data linked to your anonymous player ID.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to or restrict processing. Because accounts are anonymous, we may ask you for your anonymous player ID (shown in the game settings) to locate your data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
6. Children
Neon Cascade is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process personal data of children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove the associated data.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this page, and the effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated in the game.
